Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Structural Steel Detailer in the Villa Rica, GA area.
The Structural Steel Detailer plays a critical role in project execution by ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of fabrication and field-use drawings. You will translate contract documents and 3D models into precise blueprints that our fabrication shops and field teams rely on to build safely and efficiently.
Core Functions & Responsibilities

Modeling & Drafting: Utilize advanced CAD software to model structural steel members and connections; generate precise part, shop, and installation drawings for fabrication.

RFI Management: Proactively identify data gaps and draft clear Requests for Information (RFIs) to secure necessary project details.

Compliance & Review: Audit existing contract documents to ensure strict compliance with project specifications, design intent, and safety standards.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with other divisions and departments to clarify structural steel conditions and streamline workflows.

Team Support: Provide ad-hoc technical and administrative support to the Structural Steel Coordinator to keep projects moving forward.

Role Requirements: Education & Experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in drafting, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), or a related technical field is highly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of dedicated experience in structural steel drafting and detailing.

Software Expertise: Proficiency in model-based drafting programs, specifically Tekla Structures or SDS2.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of drafting concepts, tools, and techniques, alongside familiarity with ASTM and OSHA standards.
