The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our team and take ownership of site design projects from concept through construction. You’ll work directly with clients, municipalities, and agencies, and play an active role in shaping developments across the NC Piedmont market. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with real responsibility and room to grow.
What You’ll Do
- Lead projects from conceptual planning through construction document completion and permitting
- Design stormwater systems, grading, erosion control, utilities, and other site infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepare engineering calculations, hydraulic models (SCMs, storm drainage, water/sewer), and supporting reports
- Submit, track, and manage site permits and regulatory approvals
- Conduct field inspections and prepare construction certifications
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, review agencies, and design team members
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented office culture
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- NC PE license, or EIT with a clear path to PE licensure within one year
- 5–10 years of private development site design experience, ideally in the Piedmont region
- Familiarity with local design regulations, permitting processes, and review agencies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, and Microsoft Office/Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to clients and regulators
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
