About the Role

This is a technical and commercial leadership position at the intersection of engineering, sales, and operations. You’ll own the full quote-to-close process for custom and standard equipment from cost analysis and proposal development to client relationships and lab management while serving as a key resource for our sales network.

What You’ll Do

Technical Sales & Quoting

  • Analyze part and labor costs using ERP systems, production history, and supply chain data to build accurate, competitive quotes for custom and standard machinery
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Sales to configure equipment to spec and ensure proposals are complete and defensible
  • Review and approve quotes for custom equipment; manage periodic re-costing cycles for standard units

Client Development & Sales Support

  • Develop new business independently and in partnership with regional sales agents through meetings, presentations, demos, and responsive follow-up
  • Serve as a technical resource for the sales team fielding inquiries, resolving complaints, and connecting agents with the right internal experts when needed
  • Identify knowledge gaps across the sales team and build targeted plans to close them
  • Manage quote follow-up and feedback loops for both agents and house accounts
  • Support trade show planning and on-site staffing
  • Stay sharp on industry trends through workshops, publications, and professional networks

Applications Lab Management

  • Oversee all aspects of the applications laboratory, including staffing, client trials, supplies, equipment maintenance, test reporting, and follow-up directly and through your team

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of B2B consultative sales or applications experience in a related technical industry
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong quantitative skills, including advanced Excel proficiency
  • Clear, confident communicator — written and verbal
  • Comfortable mentoring others and working collaboratively across departments
  • Analytically rigorous with a practical, solutions-first mindset
  • High degree of discretion; comfortable operating within confidentiality requirements
