Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Process, Service & Technical Sales Specialist in the Elizabeth City, NC area
About the Role
This is a field-facing technical role for someone who thrives at the boundary of engineering and sales. You’ll be the go-to expert for customers and sales reps alike — running lab trials, supporting equipment startups, troubleshooting in the field, and helping prospects understand exactly how our equipment solves their problems. If you’re energized by owning a project from first conversation to successful installation, this role is built for you.
What You’ll Do
Internal Collaboration
- Plan and conduct lab trials for prospective customers, working with sales reps, the lab coordinator, and VP of Sales & Marketing to demonstrate equipment capabilities in a compelling, results-driven way
- Serve as a technical resource for the sales team — fielding customer inquiries and complaints, and driving toward fast, effective resolution through direct action or coordination with R&D, Engineering, Lab, or Manufacturing
- Consult with Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Management to develop accurate, budget-conscious equipment recommendations for clients
- Partner with R&D on the concept development, design, and prototyping of new equipment models
- Document all client interactions — meetings, startups, and service calls — with clear written reports for internal records and client files
- Maintain strong cross-departmental communication to keep everyone aligned on sales goals and customer commitments
Customer-Facing Work
- Lead equipment startups end-to-end: installation supervision, operator training, manual walkthroughs, and maintenance guidance
- Build and maintain client relationships through presentations, on-site visits, calls, and emails — advising on equipment features, process improvements, and best practices
- Support lab trial and quote follow-up with sales agents and house accounts, helping assess opportunity timing and close probability
- Participate in sales training events; identify knowledge gaps and help build programs to address them
- Contribute to trade show planning and on-site exhibit staffing
- Stay current on industry trends through workshops, publications, and professional networks
What You Bring
- 5+ years of B2B consultative experience in a related technical industry
- A track record of owning projects from start to finish — with the initiative and follow-through to match
- Strong communicator who can translate technical concepts for varied audiences and close deals
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Collaborative instincts with the independence to self-direct in the field
- Analytically minded problem-solver who doesn’t wait to be handed a solution
- High degree of discretion; comfortable operating within confidentiality requirements
