Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Revit Drafter to support our client, a leading architectural systems firm in Houston, TX.
Position Overview
This role serves as a vital technical link in our client’s architectural systems production, specifically focusing on the development of detailed shop drawings for specialty construction. As a Revit Drafter, you will move beyond basic CAD work to focus on the “stuff”—transforming design intent into precise, manufacturable documentation. This position is ideal for a junior to mid-level professional who understands that a Revit model is a database for materials and schedules, not just a 3D visual. The mission is to ensure that structural and MEP integration is seamless before any material is released for fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
-
Detailed Shop Drawings: Create precise and detailed shop drawings using Revit to facilitate accurate manufacturing and on-site installation.
-
Multidisciplinary Interpretation: Interpret and translate complex architectural, structural, and MEP documents into actionable technical files.
-
Material Quantification: Produce comprehensive material schedules to accurately quantify all components required for project delivery.
-
Project Collaboration: Partner closely with engineers and project managers to resolve design conflicts and ensure on-time completion of technical deliverables.
-
Deadline Management: Manage the drafting lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strict adherence to architectural standards.
Required Qualifications
-
Experience: 3–5 years of drafting experience is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong Revit proficiency will be considered.
-
Software: High proficiency in Revit is required.
-
Technical Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of basic drafting skills and the ability to accurately read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
-
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet strict deadlines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Our “Green Flag” for this Houston-based role is a self-directed Revit user who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or architectural systems environment. We need a “doer” who can look at a structural set and immediately understand how the specialty systems need to interface. High attention to detail regarding material schedules and a collaborative mindset for working with project managers are essential.
